Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MythOS ("Service"), operated by One Inc ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use MythOS. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You must provide accurate information during signup.
  • You may not use another person's account without permission.
  • Usernames are unique and permanent — deleted usernames are retired and cannot be re-registered.

3. Your Content

  • You retain ownership of all content you create on MythOS (memos, journal entries, comments, community posts).
  • By posting content publicly or to a community, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and store that content as part of the Service.
  • If you delete your account, your content is anonymized (attributed to "[Deleted User]") but remains visible. To remove specific content before deleting your account, delete it individually first.

4. AI Features

  • MythOS offers AI-powered features (chat, search, embeddings) through third-party providers (OpenAI, Anthropic).
  • If you provide your own API keys (BYOK), those keys are encrypted at rest and used solely to make API calls on your behalf.
  • AI-generated responses are provided as-is. We are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of AI output.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
  • Distribute malware, spam, or abusive content
  • Circumvent rate limits or security measures
  • Scrape or bulk-download content without authorization

6. Communities

  • Community creators and moderators are responsible for enforcing their community guidelines.
  • We reserve the right to remove communities or content that violates these Terms.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

8. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through Settings > Privacy.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where possible.
  • Upon termination, your personal data is deleted and content is anonymized per our Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Inc shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. For users in the EEA, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under GDPR or local consumer protection laws.
