Notion is a collaborative @Knowledge Management platform for notes, wikis, and tasks which was designed to unify organizational knowledge. Notion’s interlinking functionality enables context-rich communication by linking between documents with its in-line @tagging of existing resources; a structure succinct enough for time-limited senior leadership while being rich enough to be comprehended by new hires without further explanation. A note from Notion founder Ivan Zhao in their 2016 launch on @Product Hunt:
“Notion wants to challenge this status quo of ‘software as silos.’ For the 1.0 release, we are bundling real-time documents, wiki-like organization, and lightweight tasks into a unified tool that can handle pretty much all your team's knowledge needs – and this is just the beginning.”
In 2017, I was pushed off of Notion for unknowingly over-taxing one of their APIs; a product of using it for external communication where their business model is built for internal communication. After a less-than-pleasant enterprise sales conversation with their CEO and founder, Ivan Zhao, I reached out to @Grant Nestor to spec out @MythOS— a cross of Notion and @Bear.
