WeAreLATech (WALT) is a #podcast, #event-series, and community-focused organization unifying the technology eco-system of Los Angeles. Founded, hosted, and led by @Espree Devora, WALT curates "content and experiences that facilitate heart-driven relationships" throughout LA's startup scene. [1] WALT is an omnichannel, hub for entrepreneurs to connect to resources in the @Silicon Beach community and made similar to a city tourist office. [1] The WeAreLATech Podcast was the first podcast focused exclusively on LA startups and reached #2 on iTunes in 'New & Noteworthy' when it launched in 2014. The WeAreLATech Calendar is a comprehensive, community-curated calendar of startup events throughout Los Angeles and the WeAreLATech Chat is a @Slack-based, curated group connecting "high-quality people" in LA's tech scene. The WeAreLATech Job Board shares career opportunities in LA's startups to welcome new people into this scene. [1][2] The WeAreLATech Mobile App provides the community access to all of these on their mobile device. The WeAreLATech Experience Club curates intimate, offline activities; with just four to eight attendees, the experiences ensure participants are introduced to new people in meaningful ways. [2] Past experiences include drone flying, DJ lessons, clay pigeon shooting, horseback riding, surfing lessons, and more. The concept was based on the saying 'more business gets done at the bar than in a boardroom' and guarantees "no panels or mixers". I joined the Experience Club when it launched in 2015 and participated in DJ Lessons, wine/beer tastings, and numerous other intimate activities. It cultivated memorable experiences and strong friendships with @Rob Kale, @Loren Vandegrift, and more.
