Espree Devora is a serial #entrepreneur, prolific #podcaster, community organizer, and the charismatic creator of WeAreLATech; a podcast, event series, and community dedicated to the unification of Los Angeles' tech eco-system. [1][2] Devora is known as "the girl who gets it done."
Devora has been a #speaker and panel moderator for organizations including CBS, SXSW, Disney, General Assembly, Media Bistro, USC MBA, etc. [1][2] She sees her moderation as "an opportunity to facilitate an experience where the audience has the most to gain." [3]
Devora, a #digital-nomad, has traveled to more than 50 countries to celebrate women in tech and has conducted hundreds of interviews for her Women in Tech podcast; from Asia to Albania. [3] Prior to this, she created and hosted Hello Customer; a podcast revealing insights about connecting with customers on a heart level and featured insiders Zappos, Levi's, Volcom, Element, MeUndies, etc.
In 2017, she was listed by Inc Magazine as an 'Inspirational Women to Watch in Tech', was featured on 'Faces of Silicon Beach' in 2015, and was the first female recipient of a Heart-Centered TECH Leadership Award in 2014. Having been a #blogger for many years, she is currently writing a book about creating offline experiences for tech professionals. She is the author of “Outsourcing Cheat Sheet“, even outsourcing her love life, and is the daughter of world-class speaker Hermine Hilton.
Espree and I were first connected in 2013 by Shoeboxed after she had asked to interview some of their "best customers" for her SaveBusinessTime.com project. We stayed in touch and, in 2014, she was my first interview on the CatalystMLM Podcast. Later, in 2015, weeks after I'd moved to Los Angeles, she walked into the cafe where I was working—this, after two years of digital friendship, was the first time we had met in person. Espree is a dynamic source of energy and an uplifting frequency in the world.
Background
In her early twenties, Devora founded ZexSports; a digital media company that connected brands to youth through local action sports events. During this time, starting in 2007, she flew around the country shooting top athletes like Shaun White, Tony Hawk, and Ryan Sheckler to produce action sports videos.
