Mythos

Nice Meeting You, also called MeetBot, was a flow within @Brian+ which is found by scanning a @Facebook@Messenger Code on the back of Swichkow's phone. [1] Once scanned with the @Facebook Messenger app—intended for conferences and networking events—the person is greeted by name with reference to the event and asked for their email; then prompted, "@Legend. Did you have any burning questions? Happy to share some resources once I'm back at my 💻." [2] The flow was conceived as an alternative to carrying or accepting paper business cards and was first deployed at @Retail Global Australia 2018. [3] Information from the bot—built with @ManyChat—is ported to @Airtable using @Zapier and acts as a central @Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for business and life. Most people were unaware that Facebook Messenger has a built in scanner and were curious to see how MeetBot worked. Rather than sending dry, informal emails after the conference, I found myself chatting with attendees, organizers, and other speakers casually throughout the various events. The short flow was never obtrusive to the verbal dialogue we'd been having when it was presented and is unlikely to be tested as a longer string with more questions. Those who interact with MeetBot are now subscribers to BrianBot and will receive any broadcasts sent in the future.
