An Interdependent Relationship refers to a connection between individuals or entities where each party relies on the other, not out of a deficiency or incapacity, but because of a recognition of each other's unique strengths and capabilities. In this type of relationship, each entity maintains its autonomy while acknowledging that collaboration can lead to outcomes that are greater than what they could achieve independently.
An Interdependent Relationship is different than a Co-Dependent Relationship, which is an unhealthy form of reliance where one or both parties may suppress their needs or desires, often driven by emotional factors, and may feel incomplete or incapable without the other. This form of dependency can stifle growth, encourage enabling behaviors, and perpetuate imbalances in power and emotional well-being.
