While Roles are the designations we wear, Function encapsulates the actions, value, and impact we bring to the table, day in and day out.
At a glance, roles serve as our public-facing identities: They're the labels that society sees and acknowledges - whether it's 'manager', 'athlete', or 'artist'. However, beneath these titles lies the heart of our real contributions: our functions.
The allure of societal recognition often draws us into the chase for prestigious roles. It's a tantalizing promise of status, hierarchy, and sometimes, tangible rewards. But where does genuine satisfaction come from? Not from a lofty title, but from a function that resonates with our core beliefs and passions.
Understanding what function we hope to serve can help us find our purpose much easier than pursuing the role we think we want to play.
