Author Malcolm Gladwell defines the Human Capitalization Rate as “the percentage of people who have the ability to make the most of their potential”.
He believes that the three greatest obstacles to increasing Human Capitalization Rates are poverty, stupidity and culture.
Poverty - because wealthier individuals consistently outperform poorer individuals who find themselves at a similar talent level.
Stupidity - because arbitrary societal rules limit us from giving talented individuals a fair chance.
Culture - because those that have a culture of perseverance do better than those that believe that talent is a prerequisite for performance.
