Charles-Ryan Barber (CR) is a #photographer and #acrobat. In December of 2018, Barber lost his left leg when he was struck, head-on by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle. Within a few months, he was back to doing handstands, rock climbing, and swinging on the rings. Barber discovered his passion for photojournalism while documenting the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Photojournalism from the University of Georgia. While in school, working as a freelance photographer for Creative Loafing, Paste Magazine, Flagpole Magazine, Groupon, River Oak Photography, and Eikon Productions. Barber has a lifelong passion for acrobatics; in his spare time he has been a trapeze and trampoline instructor and while in Los Angeles performs on the @Flying Rings at @Original Muscle Beach.

I met CR through the @Original Muscle Beach community in 2016. He quelled my anxieties about doing a @dislocate on the @Flying Rings and shared guidance for working towards it. Once I had accomplished @My First Dislocate, he encouraged me to, and guided me in doing, @flyaway and do an @inlocate; neither of which I'd have seen myself attempting without his support.
