Objective
HashtagNomads is a Slack Community for Digital Nomads and remote workers. Created by Pieter Levels as a part of his 12 Startups in 12 Months project, his method was publicized in a post titled 'How I hacked Slack into a community platform with Typeform'. [1] His method, made available on his blog, is largely considered as the genesis for all Slack communities.
Subjective
The Ghost Influence membership community—chat based, marketing strategy and guidance for startup founders—was inspired by and is a direct descendant of HashtagNomads.
While Typeform's inability to create recurring payments prevented me from using Levels' exact method, the code implemented later validated Seth Lesky's development of LaunchPass; a software enabling development of Slack communities by streamlining enrollment, billing, etc.
