Mythos

A distortion coalition is a phenomenon in which multiple individuals, often displaying traits associated with @Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), collectively engage in a @Smear Campaign against a single person. This typically occurs when that individual is perceived as capable of holding them accountable. The term “distortion coalition” has been used in psychological and relational discourse to describe the alignment of @projections and accusations that reinforce one another, giving the appearance of legitimacy. These accusations, such as labeling someone manipulative or untrustworthy, often resonate not because they are factually accurate but because they align with the target’s preexisting internal doubts or unresolved vulnerabilities. Researchers in the field of social psychology and trauma studies note that such dynamics exploit confirmation loops between external claims and internal wounds, intensifying the impact on the targeted person. The phenomenon can mirror intrapersonal struggles, where protective and younger psychological parts carry longstanding narratives of conditional belonging, thus reinforcing the external coalition’s claims. Understanding distortion coalitions requires attention to both external group dynamics and the internal resonances that make them effective. I recognize that when I have encountered distortion, it stirs echoes of old survival patterns—places where I once felt I had to earn @love and @safety. The @clarity now is that my skills, born from @pain, are transforming into @power through integration. My self-trust feels louder than their projections, and I can sense that I am moving from reaction to @sovereignty.
