Hybrid events are a blend of the traditional in-person event paired with an online virtual one. Ideally, everyone attending will be able to participate in the event and engage with each other while also interacting with speakers and asking questions during sessions.

There are many ways this can be implemented. Some of the concepts we've been playing with are:

mounting iPads at intersections to foster conversations between strangers
creating a physical museum of digital worlds
augmenting IRL events with virtual venues by renting photobooth-style portals as a business

Used effectively, these concepts can:

drive awareness for social/public good campaigns
generate awareness for a brand
build new business lines that play into emerging trends like hybrid events
