Mythos

Jim Goodman is a #technical-founder, #software-developer, and serial #entrepreneur with a career spanning multiple eras of internet infrastructure, live event logistics, and mobile application innovation. He conceptualized, and was a founder of, @Ticketmaster Online, where he managed ticketing operations and led anti-counterfeiting efforts for clients including The Grateful Dead, Goldenvoice, and Cirque du Soleil as well as sports franchises including the Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Ducks, Dodgers, and Angels. Goodman also ran ticketing and venues for World Cup USA ’94 and the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002. Goodman later joined @Disney (1995–1997), then became a single-digit employee at Tickets.com, helping to roll up the industry’s major players into Ticketmaster’s most formidable competitor. He went on to serve as a program manager at Intel under @Peter Biddle, internet pioneer and coiner of the phrase “darknet,”. Goodman later founded Corkz, one of the first wine apps in the iPhone App Store, which featured by Apple in its stores and advertising, included in a full-page NY Times advertisement by AT&T, and eventually acquired. Goodman has advised, built, or led technical teams across startups and institutions including Reddit, Samsung, Apple, AOL, and Live Nation. Until 2025, he served as CTO of @Bevz and advisor to several stealth and VC-backed ventures. He mentors at @UCLA Law’s Lowell Milken Institute, the Preccelerator, and beyond. He has decades of experience with startups and has, also, been responsible for corporate-scale solutions architecture, development operations, logistics management, and business development. He's an avid #foodie, former #wineo, and frequent traveler. Jim and I met at the gate of a Silicon Beach Networking Meetup and, before we'd made it to the door, had bonded over bots, domain collections, and inexplicable love for building things. Talking to Jim has been a highlight for many @Symposium goers and was a catalyst for the @Vocal Valley activation, a playful pop-up podcast studio. Jim is a Founding @Citizen of One, co-creator of @One Studio. Within One Inc, he was previously he was the co-host of @Networked Structures, and on the @Board of Directors for @One Inc when is was structured as a cooperative.

Tidbits

  • Jim has held the record for the most packages shipped by FedEx to residential addresses from a single location, on a single day for the last two decades—they were World Cup tickets.
  • Jim's doctor told him he needed to drink 2 cups of coffee a day for the health of his liver and he had the foresight to ask for a prescription… for coffee… so that he could write it off his new coffee maker and all of his coffee as a medical expense.
