Objective

David Sacks is a prominent South African-American entrepreneur, investor, and political strategist who, as of January 2025, serves as the "White House AI and Crypto Czar" in the second Trump Administration. In this role, he acts as a special advisor guiding national policy on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital assets, with a focus on establishing a legal framework to help the Cryptocurrency industry "thrive" in the United States. Sacks is also the co-chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. A key figure in the The PayPal Mafia, Sacks was the founding-era COO of PayPal before founding the enterprise social network Yammer, which was acquired by Microsoft for $1.2 billion in 2012. He is a general partner at Craft Ventures, a venture capital firm he co-founded in 2017. Sacks is a vocal critic of what he terms "woke AI," arguing that state-level regulations—particularly in "blue states"—risk embedding social agendas and "algorithmic discrimination" into technology. He has pushed for a unified national standard to prevent a "patchwork" of state laws that he believes stifle innovation and could cause the U.S. to lose the AI race against China. Beyond his official duties, Sacks is the co-host of the All-In Podcast, a popular tech and politics program through which he has significantly influenced the Silicon Valley-to-Washington pipeline.
