Objective

Slack Thread Story (template) is a memo template designed to transform collaborative Slack conversations with BrianBot (Local) in Slack into narrative documentation within MythOS. The template guides members of the content team through capturing the essential elements of a threaded discussion: the initial context that prompted the conversation, the problem or question being addressed, key dialogue exchanges between participants, and the resulting insight or decision reached. This format converts real-time workplace collaboration into permanent, searchable knowledge that preserves both the substance and the collaborative nature of the original exchange.

When creating a memo from a Slack thread, begin by identifying what triggered the conversation—was it a question, a problem, or a collaborative exploration? Capture this as your opening context. Next, distill the core problem or question that the thread addresses. Rather than transcribing the entire conversation, pull out the most meaningful dialogue exchanges that demonstrate different perspectives, key insights, or turning points in the discussion. Focus on substance over verbatim quotes. Finally, clearly articulate what decision was made, what insight emerged, or what action resulted from the thread. The goal is to preserve the collaborative energy while making the knowledge accessible to those who weren't present in the original conversation.
