Mythos

My rug is the 11' x 15' patchwork of recycled rugs that manifested a few months after moving into @My Apartment in September 2018. It was the first rug the (pushy) rug salesman grabbed at the first rug store I went shopping. He insisted it was "antique" and "made with vegetable dyes" but when I negotiated a 90% discount he remarked that "it would barely cover the cost of materials." It wasn't until the rug was laid out in the space that I realized why it was this rug—more than the others in the store—that resonated with me. It matched and somewhat validated, my @sticky note aesthetic. Later, I snagged the matching chairs (shown below) from @Glenda Lousignont which brought the @Sticky Note Chic aesthetic into my @Conversation Studio. 3cf07a_rug_and_chairs.png

“Chaos” Nickname

My rug was previously named ‘My Chaos Rug’ as a reference to its random assembly and lack of consistent lines. A reminder of how “the universe breathes in order and breathes out chaos”. That nickname was later removed As to mitigate an unintended manifestation. I only later realized that my rug had been the source of a year-long battle to solve for a mysterious, full-body, sleep interrupting itchiness... what later revealed itself as a dust mite allergy and was put into the past for @The Joyful Explorer and I with the acquisition of our @Neat Steam Cleaner.

Manifestation

I kept feeling called to look for a rug before furniture and went to this hole-in-the-wall place I’d passed months prior. I was greeted by the store owner, told him I didn't know what I wanted, and This was the first one he unrolled for me. I then proceeded to negotiate an 85% discount.
